Déjà vu as knife crime story gets recycled

By Axegrinder axeblog

Keen and young, Tom Harper had been doing news shifts at The Sunday Telegraph for almost 18 months. Then, suddenly he had a chance to work elsewhere ‒ so he’s now doing the same at The Mail on Sunday.

And last Sunday, after his first week at the MoS, he not only produced the splash, but also two other inside stories. He and his bosses must have been chuffed.

However, after Harper had left Victoria Plaza, news desk execs apparently trawled through his computer for unused items and dug up some of his work on knife crime.

And hey presto, last Sunday, a story on knife crime appeared in The Sunday Telegraph with “additional reporting by Tom Harper” at the bottom of it.

This was a similar story to Harper’s splash in the early editions of The Mail on Sunday.
