Express Newspapers is being sued for defamation over a story that appeared in the Daily Express last year.
Heidi Craske is suing the Daily Express over a story headlined ‘Head hits at ‘racist parents'”, and over an online version of the same story, which she claims was defamatory.
Craske, of Tilehurst, Reading, is seeking damages of up to £50,000 and has dropped her claim for an injunction banning repetition of the words she complains of.
The story centred on the headteacher of Moorlands Primary School after a vote of no confidence in her was signed by almost 170 parents. Craske is a parent with a child at the school and has denied making racist marks about the headteacher.
She has instructed solicitor JC Clarke-Williams of Russell Jones and Walker to act for her.
