Maria Coole has been named the editor of The People’s magazine Take it Easy.
She takes over from Kerry Parnell, who has left Trinity Mirror to become acting editor of Hachette Filipacchi’s Red.
Coole was deputy editor of Take it Easy and has also been deputy editor on New Woman and Bliss.
MGN editorial director, magazines, Phil Hall said: “We’re sorry to lose Kerry, but delighted for her at the same time.
She did a great job on the launch, but Maria is a more than capable successor.”
Take it Easy was launched in January following extensive reader research. It has an emphasis on features about ordinary people rather than celebrities.
Hall said: “The early signs are that the new real-life stories content has really connected with readers. The team have been inundated with letters from satisfied customers.”
