The Newspaper Conference annual lunch is to be held at the House of Commons in November.
A cabinet minister will address regional press political journalists, editors, chief executives, and their contacts.
The lunch gives journalists the opportunity to question MPs over issues of local, regional and national importance.
Former guests to the lunch have included former Home Secretary Charles Clarke, Jack Straw, then Foreign Secretary, and former Leader of the Opposition Michael Howard.
Future lunches will include Douglas Alexander, Secretary of State for Transport (Monday 23 October 2006); and John Reid, Home Secretary (Tuesday 23 January 2007).
This year's Newspaper Conference Annual Lunch will take place on Monday 27 November 2006.
