CMPi has named the six candidates who have gained a place on its graduate training and bursary schemes. They are Simon Crawshaw, Sonia Soltani, Ben Cardew and Vicky Miller – all from the City University magazine course – and Anna Goldie from the NCTJ fast-track course, a graduate from Goldsmiths College.
CMPi said it had received 200 applications from potential trainees and chose 28 for interview.
The scheme, launched earlier this year, begins in September and the trainees will be given experience working on a number of CMPi’s weekly titles, including Music Week, Farmers Guardian, Pulse, Property Week, Housing Today and Travel Trade Gazette. They will transfer to a new title every three months during the training period.
Christina Franks and Nick Yates were awarded £10,000 bursaries for the postgraduate magazine course at City University and will take the two places available on the 2005 graduate training scheme.
