CMP Information has acquired the Interior Design Handbook, its website and the Space Series market reports from Kenrick Place Media for £1.6m.
The Interior Design Handbook is aimed at interior design manufacturers and suppliers and features information on architects and designers.
CMPi said it would strengthen its interior design and property portfolio and complement existing titles such as Cabinet Maker and Intra magazine.
The interior design market as a whole is believed to be worth £40m.
It is the second acquisition in a month for CMPi which bought the Property Media group, including Property Week, at the end of April.
Nine staff have decided to leave as a result of the takeover. They were offered jobs at CMPi but chose to leave due to the relocation. It would have resulted in them moving from their offices in Baker Street, Central London to Tonbridge, where CMPi’s 20 directories are based. CMPi chief executive Bernard Gray said: “This acquisition, together with the recent purchase of Property Media, demonstrates our commitment to strengthening our product offering to our customer and underlines our ambition to become the leading professional media group in the UK.”
