Clark sees AJE in work tribunal

The former head of news and programmes at Al Jazeera English has taken the broadcaster to an employment tribunal.

Steve Clark, who joined Al Jazeera English before its launch last November, has complained with Jo Burgin, the former head of planning at the broadcaster.

The hearing on 6 December heard complaints of discrimination as well as unfair dismissal against the broadcaster.

Clark’s career includes high-level roles at ITN, Central/Carlton TV. Middle East Broadcasting and Sky News.

Judgment in the case is currently reserved and is likely to be made public in January.
