Centaur Media is to make its first foray into webcasting with Money Marketing TV.
The initiative will be produced by Cantos, the online financial broadcaster. The Money Marketing editorial team, led by editor John Lappin, will provide the content and front a weekly edition.
The broadcast will include a summary of the major weekly news stories and commentary on industry issues.
The publisher’s move into webcasting has come about because of the increased availability of fast broadband connections, according to publishing director Patrick Ponsford.
He said: ‘In 2007, most people can access and watch a webcast pretty smoothly. We didn’t want to do one until it would look and sound good.”
Ponsford said advertisers should be attracted to the new development, adding that it would ‘give our advertisers an alternative and more creative way of communicating with their customers”.
Most of the Money Marketing editorial team are new to broadcasting and have had training from the hosts, Cantos, in presenting themselves in front of camera.
Centaur now plans to launch webcasts across all of its trade publications.
The webcast will go out via Money Marketing’s website from this Thursday (18 January). Centaur is also launching a new mortgage magazine and a sister event this month.
Mortgage Distributor will be a monthly publication focusing on the changing nature of how mortgages are sold, with a particular focus on mortgage packagers, clubs and networks.
