Celebs, real life and fashion: NoW’s Fabulous launches

By paulmcnally

The News of the World secured interviews with Russell Brand and “tell-it-like-it-is cover star” Kelly Osbourne for the inaugural issue of its much-publicised new magazine, Fabulous, which launched today.

The 76-page glossy mag combines celebrity, real life, diets, fashion, beauty and relationship advice – including a new column from “the Toxic Bachelor”, a “perenially single” man who tells readers “what men really think about love, dating and sex”.

In the real-life stakes, there’s a series of interviews with “gold diggers”, a heart-wrenching piece entitled “I lost 18-stone and my husband ran off with my mum” and an interview with the 24-year-old accounts worker who’s “hooked on Britney’s diet drugs”.

Advertisers in the launch issue include Marks & Spencer, Furniture Village, and the “provocative new fragrance” from Christina Aguilera.

Editor Mandy Appleyard told Press Gazette this week about her plans for the title. We’ll find out on 7 March what effect the new launch has on the News of the World’s circulation figures, which fell more than six per cent year-on-year in January.
