Chris Bullivant junior has become managing director of Observer Standard Newspapers.
Bullivant takes over from his mother Pat, who will retain her directorship of the company as deputy chairman, alongside her husband – also named Chris – who is chairman.
Pat is also taking over responsibility for the PR and marketing of the company.
Chris has worked in most departments of the company.
He said: ‘I’d like to continue the strategy of organic growth which has seen us become one of the fastest growing newspaper groups in the country and also, where appropriate, we’d like to expand the group through any suitable acquisitions.’Observer Standard Newspapers publishes 17 papers across Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands, as well as magazines and websites. The group’s weekly distribution figure is 400,000.
Pat added: ‘We think it’s a way of driving the company forward with someone who is young and very enthusiastic. It’s good to have fresh hands at the helm.”
