The BBC’s commercial arm will be accused of helping the Burmese junta in an annual blacklist published by pressure group Burma Campaign UK.
According to the Sunday Times, BBC Worldwide will feature in this year’s list because Lonely Planet – which it bought last year – has published a guide to the country. It argues that the BBC should not be supporting tourism.
A spokeswoman for BBC Worldwide said the guidebook “does not represent support or otherwise for the current regime”.
