Award nominees focus on England’s cricketing heroes

England’s dramatic Ashes victory figure strongly in this year’s Sports
Journalists’ Association photography awards.

More than 1,000
entries have been submitted for the event, which takes place on 27
February at the Radisson Hotel in London, hosted by Michael Parkinson
and John Inverdale.

The shortlist includes:

■ Specialist sports portfolio: Clive Brunskill (Getty Images),
Patrick Eagar (freelance), Gordon Fraser (Scottish Rugby Union), Tom
Shaw (Getty Images).

■ Sports portfolio: Mike Hewitt (Getty Images), Tom Jenkins (Guardian), Eddie Keogh (Reuters).
