Archant is relaunching three weekly newspapers in a new ‘quarter-fold’ size, which is roughly half the size of a tabloid newspaper.
The Bromley Times, Bexley Times and Gravesend & Dartford Reporter will all move to the new format from 12 July.
The relaunched titles, which will run to 112 pages, will ‘focus on local feature content as well as news”, said Archant. Distribution will increase from 50,000 to 80,000 copies.
Archant London managing director Will Hattam said: ‘This is a fresh approach for our readers and advertisers. Our initial response has been very positive.’
Ilford Recorder editor Chris Carter has been seconded as launch editor working with group design editor Steve Bodycomb and the Kent team.
Archant said there will be no redundancies as a result of the switch.
