Alan Skehan
Press Gazette’s editorial team has been stunned and saddened by the sudden death of sub-editor Alan Skehan on Monday night. He was 27. Alan was taken ill at a family meal in Scotland and could not be revived, having apparently suffered a heart attack.
He was an immensely popular figure who joined the magazine from the North Surrey and London Newspaper Group last year. Alan had previously worked as sports editor of the Informer News Group and as a reporter on the Surrey Herald. He was married to Anna Parsons, the daughter of Judy Parsons, content editor of the Staines News series, and Richard Parsons, head of news agency Sportsbeat. Anna’s brother James was formerly Press Gazette’s commercial manager.
Our sympathies go to all Alan’s extended family.
