YouthNet, an online charity for 16-25 year olds, is looking for an editorial assistant (£15k) to assist with all aspects of content production across its sites – TheSite, Lifetracks, Do-it and YouthNet. Closing date: 28 September.

Platts, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies and a global provider of energy and metals information, is looking for a senior copy editor. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and timeliness of the company’s real-time news output across service lines in the EMEA region. You will be required to learn Platts’ real-time news products and their target audience, know reporters and become acquainted with internal IT systems and written house-style. Experienced candidates running or deputising on a busy desk in a newswire or similar environment will be preferred. Responsibilities include editing copy, liasing with reporters and freelancers and providing feedback. Job location: London. Closing date: 17 October.

Future Publishing is looking for a deputy editor to join Fast Bikes, its dedicated sports bike magazine. The role involves devising, organising and writing road tests and features along with subbing content for the magazine. You will be required to represent the magazine at riding launches and other press events internationally. You should have proven journalistic skills, subbing ability, drive and creative flair combined with excellent magazine craft and experience in people management. A strong interest in sports bikes is essential along with a full unrestricted motorcycle licence and high level of riding ability. Job location: Bath.

Future Publishing is looking for a staff writer to join Classic Ford, its magazine specialising in classic Fords. You will write across all areas of the magazine, covering everything from reader’s car features and technical guides to news stories and show reports. You will also deal with readers via phone, email and at shows and events, build relationships with the magazines advertisers, research news stories and source cars to feature. You should have a passion for cars and hold a UK driving licence. You should have excellent writing and research skills, and be able to compose exciting and knowledgeable copy for the magazine. Job location: Bath. Closing date: 2 October.

Newswire is looking for a senior copy editor (£40K). You will not only edit copy, but work with the reporters and the editing team too to make sure the process is as efficient as possible. The ideal candidate will be an editor in a newswire environment or a busy newspaper. Knowledge of financial/business or the energy markets would be an advantage. Job location: London.

International Railway Journal, the monthly B2B railway-industry magazine, is hiring a full-time journalist to report on the booming global railway industry. The role involves writing both news and features. You should have an excellent writing style. Knowledge of foreign languages as well as modern railways would be an advantage. You must be willing to travel. Job location: Falmouth, Cornwall. Closing date: 14 October.

Psychologies‘ magazine is looking for an editor. This is a three-days-a-week vacancy. You will be responsible for reporting and analysis, content creation, posting on the site, management of a network of English language experts, online community management and community newsletters. With a university level education in journalism, communication or web management, you will have previous experience in the management and development of websites, including hands-on experience with an CSS. You will have proven editorial skills for the Web, a genuine interest in the psychologies themes. Location: London.

The celebrity and real life weekly, ‘love it!,’ is looking for a celebrity reporter / writer. This is not a job for beginners. You must have experience on a national title with showbiz as a specialisation. You should have knowledge of celebrities and the experience and tenacity to extract an exclusive line from the most guarded of interviewees. You’ll be fearless in your ability to sidle up to stars at parties and get them talking to you like an old pal. You should have good contacts with agents and PRs and be able to do celebrity news reports and in-depth interviews.

Holiday Property Bond, a Newmarket-based holiday business with properties throughout the UK and Europe, is looking for an editor/copy writer to edit its quarterly magazine and monthly on-line holiday bulletin. You will also provide general copywriting input. You will have at least five years journalistic and copy writing experience. This is a full-time position but applications from candidates requiring a part time position would also be considered. Job location: Norfolk. Closing date: 30 September.

A large central government organisation requires a web editor (£26 – 30K) on a one-year contract. You will be responsible for writing content and reviewing material for Web and Intranet sites.  You should have a high standard of written English. You will have to undertake baseline security checks which will include the Disclosure of Scotland check.

A European high-technology group with expertise in electronics-based defence systems and services is currently recruiting a proposal editor within its Land & Joint Systems Division based in Crawley. You will have experience working in a business environment and understand the motivation behind commercial buying decisions. Also needed are outstanding proposal writing and editing skills and strong internal communication skills. You will ideally hold at least basic level APMP accreditation and must be able to obtain UK Security Clearance. Job location Crawley, Sussex, West Sussex.

A London-based team reporting on the EMEA fixed-income market requires a capita markets specialist reporter. You will generate news stories and opinion pieces and cover people who make up the fixed-income market as well as the deals. You should have knowledge of the capital markets with experience either as a reporter or working in banking industry within the fixed-income market. You should have an ability to analyse transactions and regulatory events and ferret out news. Job location: London.

A Spanish product suite is looking for a Spanish-speaking content editor (£21k – 25k). The role will involve managing content tasks for all Spanish products, sourcing relevant images for home page highlights and banners, producing new editorial content, editing external and internal editorial content and liaising with external and internal editorial contributors. You should have a degree level education, along with fluency in Spanish as well as a digital/online content background. You must have an interest in sports. A journalism experience and knowledge of HTML and Photoshop would be an advantage. Job location: London.
